About the publication

Dogs deserve better than feature lists.

Good Gear. Good Dogs. is an independent buying guide for products that are expensive, connected, safety-related—or simply too annoying to get wrong.

What we cover

We focus on dog technology and practical equipment: GPS trackers, cameras, automatic feeders, virtual fences, travel restraints, kennels and the subscriptions attached to them. Our primary audience is in Canada and the United States.

Why two countries

A device can be excellent in one market and a poor purchase in another. Cellular coverage, currency, duties, winter performance, returns and warranty shipping all matter. We keep Canadian and U.S. purchase paths separate rather than pretending one link fits everyone.

What we are not

We are not a veterinary service, a substitute for professional training or an emergency resource. Health, behaviour and containment decisions should be discussed with the appropriate qualified professional.
